Looking Up | Reaching Out Campaign

<>“ like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house …
to offer spiritual sacrifices … ”
   (I Peter 2:4-6)

PROGRAM BACKGROUND

Our 21st Century Study resulted in a commitment to remain in our present location and carry out an outreach-based ministry!

Campus ministry was a bold start to “outreach” as we called Pastor Couch.

Pete Prochnow as Minister of Music Outreach added another exciting ministry!

Pastor Wehrspann came to assist new members in becoming active and faithful.

This is the beginning of a new chapter in Zion’s vision for ministry!

A campaign was launched to solicit financial pledges over a three year period (2006 - 2009).

Our campaign involved fundraising – but more importantly “vision sharing!

Our goal is to gather Zion’s members around a common vision for ministry!

Money determines the shape of the building

    — Vision the shape of our ministry!

We might not ever see all the results, but ministry is never about us – always for others.

We must address a growing adult population that is living longer, healthier, and is more active. (Elder hostels and servant events will be “standard” fare.)

A continued commitment to children and families is essential. Building changes will make Zion more accessible and inviting

OUR VISION

Our vision is not new, but a natural progression of where God has been leading us for many years.  Zion has always had a vibrant vision for  ministry!

Worship has always been part of our vision – as seen in our sanctuary, stained glass, organ, and choirs.

Spiritual growth has always been part of our vision – as seen by the educational building, Sunday School, and midweek programs.

Human Care has always been part of our vision – as seen in Braille Ministry, LWR sewing, State Hospital chapel, funeral dinners, and Sunday School Heifer projects.

Our vision is to bring light to the darkness and the lost to Christ!

Our “vision” is not about buildings but about
building the body of Christ.

We trust that God will bring us into His future, and bless our efforts for His sake!

It’s all about trusting the Easter vision -- May God bless our response!
